We are excited to announce something new and exciting! Up until now, all our Ancient Anthology titles have been standalone games, and we have been hesitant to expand them at all. But over the last 6 months Shem has been inspired to expand two of his designs in the Ancient Anthology.
Raiders of Scythia: Omens and Skara Brae: Headlands will be coming to Kickstarter together in Q3!
Raiders of Scythia: Omens
Along with adding new Heroes, Crew and Animals, the Omens expansion adds Omens, which are a variable set up of new rules for raiding and completing quests in each different area of the board. These Omens tie in to the new Purple Dice, Shields, and Kurgans, adding more variety and twists to each game.
Raiders of Scythia was the first game in the Ancient Anthology line, and with the second game, Hadrian's Wall, Sam Phillips developed a game box design layout that we now use for each game in the series, making them striking when lined up on a shelf together. Unfortunately Raiders of Scythia has remained the odd one out until now. The Omens expansion will come in a full size Ancient Anthology box, with the idea of it being a replacement box for those who would prefer all of their Ancient Anthology games to follow the same box design style. Each copy will also include the corrected main board, which will replace the main board of anyone who had the first printing of the game.
Skara Brae: Headlands
Adding Skara Brae to Board Game Arena was a real inspiration for this expansion. We all ended up playing Skara Brae a bunch, and even though there are 10 special tiles we wanted more special tiles! Well, Shem came up with even more than just special action tiles.
Headlands adds 2 new standard action tiles, Produce and Gather, 2 more resources (yes we need even more resources please), Seals and Oil, as well as 7 new special action tiles and a new solo mode variant.
Will the Expansion Fit in the Box
Both expansions are designed to fit all together with their base game in the standard Ancient Anthology size box.
